I have been vegan for over 42 years and one of the excuses I most often hear why people can’t go vegan is that is too expensive. If you eat at restaurants or vegan processed junk food, that certainly can be true. But if you eat WHOLE FOODS, like fruits, veggies, whole grains and legumes It’s no more expensive than eating off the Dollar Menu at a fast food chain. I was able to eat deliciously for an entire week (1,900 calories a day) from the 99 cents store for less than $25. That’s about $3.50 a day, less that the cost of a designer coffee drink.
If you don’t have a 99 Cents Only Store near you, try shopping at ethnic markets where you can find whole grains and legumes is bulk for as little as 49 cents a pound!
Eating a healthy vegan diet doesn’t have to be expensive.
